Deckhand Privacy Policy
Deckhand talks straight from your phone to your own portal. Nothing you do in the app passes through us, and we collect no data about you at all.

What We Collect
Nothing.
Deckhand has no account system of ours, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs of any kind. There is no server in the middle — the app connects only to the portal address you enter during setup.
How Deckhand Connects
Deckhand is a client for a portal you already run. When you sign in, you provide your portal URL and your own API credentials (or an admin login as a fallback). From then on, the app communicates directly with that portal over the network. Your tickets, customer records, invoices and attachments travel only between your device and your own server. They never reach us or any third party.
Because replies are made with your own admin credentials, actions you take in Deckhand are attributed to you and follow the permissions of your role, exactly as they would in the portal itself.
What Is Stored on Your Device
Deckhand keeps a few things in your device's own private storage so it can work:
- Your credentials — the portal URL, API identifier and secret (or admin login) and API access key. These are held in the iOS Keychain, bound to this device, and sit behind a Face ID / passcode gate.
- Ticket and customer data you view — fetched from your portal and held on the device so the app is responsive. This is a local copy of data that already lives on your own server.
None of this is transmitted to us. It is removed when you delete the app. If a device goes missing, you can revoke that one credential pair in your portal's admin area, which immediately cuts off its access.
Attachments and Photos
When you view an attachment, it is fetched from your portal to your device. When you attach a photo or screenshot to a reply, it is uploaded directly to your portal. These files go only between your device and your own server.
Notifications and Background Refresh
Deckhand can check your portal in the background and post local notifications when new tickets arrive. This check runs on your device and talks only to your portal. There is no push server, so no third party is ever told about your tickets.
Third-Party Services
Deckhand uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only network destination is the portal you configure.
Your Own Portal's Policies
The data you see in Deckhand belongs to and is governed by the portal you connect to. How that data is collected, stored and handled — including your customers' information — is covered by your own portal's configuration and privacy practices, not by this app.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top.
